All That She Had preached at First Presbyterian Church

Funeral for Mrs Elizabeth Mount Held at Manalapan

The funeral of Mrs Elizabeth Mount widow of Joseph Mount occurred Thursday with burial at Manalapan. She was 76 and survived by two sisters Mrs Wm Stout of Monmouth Junction and Mrs Dey of Manalapan, plus one brother Mr Dey of Hightstown. A S Cole Son Co staged the burial.

Mrs Rebecca Norcross Dies After Illness At 80

Mrs Rebecca Norcross died yesterday after a two week illness at her son in law George R B Thomas home. She was over 80 a widow with many friends and an active Methodist and W C T U member. Survived by Frank Norcross of Hightstown and Mrs George R Thomas near Cranbury Station. Funeral Monday at 11 30 from Thomas residence with Rev C W Heisley officiating. Interment at Allentown under A B Cole direction.

Evening of Pleasure at Errickson Home in Dayton

The Errickson house in Dayton hosted Julia Errickson and siblings with a large guest list from nearby towns. The event featured decorations, an elaborate supper, music, cards, and dancing among friends and local residents. A second lengthy letter from Havana describes a 1912 travel journey via Key West to Cuba, noting ports, naval visits, cigar factories, Havana landmarks, climate, architecture, agriculture, and infrastructure with details of daily life and population.

Many Grangers In Yearly Session At Hightstown

More than 300 farmers and wives attended Mercer County Pomona Grange No. 105 in Hightstown for the annual meeting. Thirteen subordinate groups were represented with visitors from Burlington and Monmouth. Officers elected included Emerson Yard master and T. A. Bolmer secretary. Assemblyman Edgar G. Weart gave a well received address on legislation empowering farmers groups to use state armories.

Tragic Fraternal Shooting Fatal to Two Year Old

George Malzer aged two and a half, son of Julius Malzer of Hoffman Station near Freehold, died at McKinley hospital after a gunshot wound believed to be fired accidentally by an elder brother. The weapon, bought by a hired man, was left in a second floor room where the children played. The infant passed away after perforating the intestines and hemorrhage despite immediate medical care. The father was at the bedside when death occurred and nurses witnessed a poignant scene. The elder child and another brother, around four, were present when the gun was found and used. Dr J C Shinn of Englishtown attended and rushed the injured child to hospital for operation.
