At 10 80 AM the Holy Sacrament of the Lords Supper will be observed with a sacramental service. A sermon will address the abuse and neglect by unworthy and worthy Christians among Protestants and Roman Catholics. Mrs T D Clark will render solos.
At 7 30 P M Rev C W Heisley preaches to the Junior Order of American Mechanica on school Bible readings prayers and immigration limits. Mrs T D Clark sings soles. The Woman's Foreign Missionary Society plans a large July gathering with social entertainment. Rev N A Pierce installed as Princeton Baptist pastor with Rev Manning presiding and Miss Ida Williamson and Miss Gertrude Townsend present.
Mrs. John Zerwick of near Half Acre saw a gasoline stove explode while preparing dinner on Wednesday. The resulting blaze consumed the house and all contents with no insurance to cover the loss. Neighbors fought the flames to no avail. the family now faces severe need. Readers may help by delivery of money or clothing to Rev. O. L. Jones in Union Valley.
Miss Ina Puerschner spent Thursday with Professor and Mrs. C. I. Ashton at Hightstown and contributed piano selections at the annual recital. Other Cranbury pupils on the program included Miss Lucile Chamberlin Miss Margaret Applegate Miss Margaret Bergen Miss Olive Petty and Miss Florence Perrine.
Mrs. Marcaret B Platt, president of the West Washington W T U, urges women to support a ballot to abolish the drink curse and protect home and child. She calls for leadership, unity, and faith to influence lawmakers and secure state law changes.
Mrs Eleanor Davis Duncan wife of Amzi A Duncan died at Presbyterian hospital Philadelphia after an operation to drain a damaged kidney followed years of pain from a trolley crash. She taught in Cranbury for nearly two decades and served on the County Board of Examiners. Funeral held at First Presbyterian Church Cranbury with interment in Brainerd Cemetery.
County Superintendent H. Brewster Willis writes to Mrs. Duncan during her hospital visit praising her years of work for Cranbury Township. He urges courage and patience, notes her leadership, and sends warm regards from New Brunswick officials and friends.
In New Brunswick a two to one rejection ended the push for the bail commission plan. Voters across wards opposed the proposal with 1,135 in favor and 2,500 against, falling short of required majorities. The July 4 drinking cup ban and Jamesburg school project details follow in separate items.
