Constable Samuel Lawrence Praised After Hagerty Arraignment
Judge Daly extolled Constable Samuel Lawrence of Cranbury as faithful and efficient for not exceeding powers. Hagerty of Cranbury changed a not guilty plea to assaulting Lawrence to a plea of non vult during arraignment. Sentence suspended due to Lawrence’s attitude and prior good reputation of Hagerty.

Anthony Schenck Dies at 75 in Prospect Plains
Anthony Schenck died Wednesday night at his Prospect Plains home after a period of illness. He was 75 and had worked in carpentry. He is survived by two sisters Mrs. Rachel Roguard, with whom he lived, and Mrs. Stoddard. The funeral was held from his home at 1:30 PM and interment followed at Cranbury.

Obituary for Peter Barclay of Dayton and Cranbury ties
Peter Barclay aged 72 died at his Dayton home on Wednesday. A retired farmer once prominent around Cranbury he was brother of the late Sheriff Isaiah Barclay and survived by sister Mrs Isabelle Mershon and son John H Barclay, the apple grower. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at his Dayton home at 1.30.

Woman and Baby Fall From Car in Trenton Incident
Mrs. Charles Patterson of Prospect Plains narrowly escaped serious injury Monday when she fell from a trolley at State and Broad streets with a baby in her arms. She tripped on a step, injuring her head slightly, while the baby suffered no harm. Police investigated but found no nail on the step.

Exhibit Deed From 1774 Shown In Hightstown Window
Postmaster Charles E. Stults displays a 140 year old exhibit deed in his office window. It records the original grant by Anthony Applegate to John Hight, founder of Hightstown, dated June 10, 1774. The receipt remains legible and preserves the handwriting. The signing witness was John H. Smith, grandfather of J. Mount Smith, former postmaster. J. Mount Smith’s father served as State Treasurer from 1851 to 1865.

Peddie Lake Dredging Plans With 60 HP Engine
Contractors Scott and Mahler of Philadelphia install a 60 horsepower dredge for Peddie Lake at Hightstown. Work aims to finish this year with a $5,000 contract for dredging and sea wall.
