The First Presbyterian Church presents a morning sermon by Rev. J. E Curry on Unity and Pleasing for the Nationa from Gen 22:18 Gal 3:16 and John 14:9.
Rev. Warren Elsing delivers morning sermon Overcoming the World at Second Presbyterian Church. Evening sermon titled Christian Sympathy. After the morning service a congregational meeting will elect five elders to join current elders.
At 11 00 A M the pastor Rev Z W Wells preaches morning service with the subject Christ the Un changeable. Parish attendance and sermon theme noted for the church bulletin.
The Young People’s Christian Association of the Second Church meets Sunday evening in the chapel with the topic Song and its meaning. The Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society of the First Church meets next Friday July 2 at 4 o’clock in the chapel with the subject Chinese Japanese and Koreans in U S Committee Mrs A H Symmes. The Woman’s Home Missionary Society of the Second Church meets next Friday July 2 at 330 in the home of Mrs Lemuel Stults with the subject Immigration.
At Sunday morning service the Second Church will elect five elders by the congregation's choice. Mr and Mrs C T Hoffman visit their Belmar cottage this weekend and will entertain Mr and Mrs H J Butcher Mr and Mrs Wm F Perrine and Mr and Mrs W H Johnson.
Three Cranbury girls Ottie Puerschner Mary Spaulding and Margaret Bergen complete the high school course at Hightstown and will graduate tonight from the institution.
Miss Olive Petty from the Normal School in Trenton accompanies Miss Genevieve Tallman to Allendale for an extended visit after the closing exercises.

Rev. Dr. Frank MacDaniel, longtime head master of Pennington Seminary, is unanimously chosen to lead West Virginia Wesleyan College Buckhannon W Va as successor to Rev. Carl C Doney who resigned to become president of Willamette University Oregon.
A distressing accident struck Albert Rue of Jamesburg formerly of Hights town and employed at the George W Helme Company. He broke his right wrist Monday noon while cranking an automobile and was taken to McKinley hospital Trenton after Dr J C Shinn attended him.
The Second Church held a Children’s Day with organ voluntary singing and scripture readings. Rev. Warren Elsing gave a special address, Sidwell of Asbury Park sang, two children Ruth Catherine Hughes and Willis Earl Applegate were baptized, and several boys promoted to the main school. We list long time attendees and perfect attendance honorees with named families and ages.
Mrs Catharine J Walker widow of Alfred W Dey died at her South Cranbury home Tuesday after a two week illness. Born Prospect Plains November 18 1887 she leaves two sons George of Asbury Park Harvey of Cranbury three grandchildren Lillian Rolland Harold and two brothers Robert of Cranbury Joseph of Matawan. Funeral Thursday at 1 30 with interment at Brainerd cemetery.
James B. Vredenburgh a leading Jersey City attorney and senior member of Vredenburgh Wall Carey died at his Freehold home. Born October 1 1844 in Freehold he was Princeton graduate of 1868 son of Judge Peter Vredenburgh and brother of William H. Vredenburgh and Peter Vredenburgh. He leaves a wife four sons and a daughter.
George E. Harron of the Hotel Tray more Atlantic City son of Mrs. Albert Brown of Hightstown and Miss Josephine Lapres daughter of Theodore Lapres will marry Saturday June 26 in Atlantic City. Harron formerly resided in Hightstown and is well known there. Lapres is prominent in Atlantic City society. her father is a noted business man.
Mr and Mrs T C Reese of Hights Town announce the engagement of their daughter Erma Carson Reese to Clarence H Stone son of Mr and Mrs J H Stone of Boston Massachusetts Miss Reese is described as an attractive young woman Stone works with a Boston bank Also, Miss Bessie Conover of West Wind Sor and Louden Norton of Hightstown were married Sunday by Rev Thomas Tyack at the Presbyterian manse in Hightstown.
Joseph A. Hayter Sr a longtime Justice of the Peace for New Brunswick Third Ward died at his home after several months illness. Born in Poland in 1852 he came to New Brunswick at fourteen and became a renowned linguist and longtime court interpreter.
Fire of unknown origin gutted the Henry Wolff & Company general store on Washington Avenue in South Amboy. The blaze began on the second floor where bedding and furniture were stored, likely sparked by crossed wires. Within two hours the brick building was reduced to walls, with damages near forty thousand dollars. The Wolff firm, long insured, stocked dry goods clothing furniture and liquor. Head Henry Wolff has run the business forty five years as a leading local merchant. Plan to restock soon.
The New Jersey Baptist convention announces the June 28 to July dates for the New Jersey Baptist Young People's Assembly at Peddie Institute. The assembly aims to train leaders for church work, broaden vision for Christian service, and inspire consecrated living among delegates.
William Baynard a colored boy between 11 and 15 from near Dayton was arrested by Constable Lawrence on a charge of attempted rape of Helen Zelkin aged 6. He was committed to jail by Justice Secor as the Prosecutor's office investigates. Helen's brother John 7 witnessed the incident as they walked to Dayton school.
Dr. Martin W. Reddan of Trenton presented a paper on the treatment of old brain injuries at the closing session of the Medical Society of New Jersey. The discussion was spirited, led by Dr. Henry A. Cotton of the New Jersey State Hospital for the Tosane and Dr. Thomas H. Mackenzie of Trenton.
