Sunday School at 10 o'clock and Men's Bible Class at the same hour led by Pastor Rev J B Curry. Sunday morning preaching by the pastor on the subject Starting Home Luke 15 18. Officers meet in the Chapel at 8 45 Friday evening with Prayer Meeting at 8 o'clock Friday night.
This Friday evening the Prayer Service will be in charge of Mr George B Mershon during the Pastor's absence. Sunday School starts at 10 AM with first bell at 9 45 AM. Mr Carlton Campbell will lead the school in the chapel. Plans for a picnic at Clark's Landing on Thursday July 13 will be announced. The Men's Bible Class meets in the Chapel at 10 AM with the Pastor's address. Divine Worship at eleven, preached by the Pastor.
The Sunday School Home Department and Church will hold their annual picnic under the Men's Brotherhood on Thursday July 13 at Clark's Landing. Lunch is organized by the Stitch and Chatter. Members asked to donate or call Ms. Ernest Stults. deadline is Tuesday evening. Those needing or offering transport should meet at the Chapel at eight o'clock daylight saving time.
Schultz Memorial Church lists Sunday worship at 11 with morning classes at 10 and a Thursday 8 PM prayer meeting. A mitten social is set for July 12 at 8 PM at Mrs. G D Brill’s home. WCTU meets July 11 at 4 PM with Miss Margaret Gibson leading. Engagement announced for Lucan Armstrong of Allentown to Hugh M Jansen of Allentown.
More than a hundred Middlesex County W C T U members and families gathered at Buccleuch Park for a day of pleasure and profit with relics of Revolutionary Days on display. Mrs A U Quint spoke on Metuchen Union, Rev Anthony Lindens spoke on Prohibition Enforcement, and performances by a ladies quartet, a recitation, and a reading concluded the event before attendees headed home.
aged 83 years passed away at his late home Thursday July 6 born in Philadelphia moved to Trenton spent most of life. Fourteen years ago he came to Cranbury and lived with his daughter Mrs Thomas B Woolston who survives him. He was a Civil War veteran and well educated. Funeral services tomorrow at 2 o clock at his late home Rev J E Curry officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery Trenton under A S Cole Son Co direction.
Clarence 8 Grover of Hightstown appointed deputy by state motor vehicle chief Dill. Grover Bros. Monmouth and Broad streets will issue automobile licenses from their office starting Saturday July 1. Licenses no longer require trips to Trenton or Englishtown. Grover Bros. also hold a public weighmaster license and can weigh trucks and commercial vehicles.
A watchman, refusing a bribe, foiled an alleged liquor theft at A. V. Manning's warehouse on Bank Street in Trenton. Prohibition agents had recently confiscated the liquor valued at $100,000. Five men were arrested Irving Linovitz of Trenton Isaac Kerner of New York Max Kerner of Cranbury Edward Cabner of Cranbury and Gilbert Lake of Plainfield.
Cranbury committee aids Tribune Fresh Air Fund by securing homes for 56 children for July 10 to 24. The project seeks local support for hosting, transportation, and fundraising to provide two weeks of country air, good food, and safe fun for youngsters. Volunteers urged to help and donate.
The First Presbyterian Church schedules its annual congregational and Sunday School picnic. It will be held next Wednesday at Asbury Park with gathering at the chapel at 8:80 A.M.
Miss Martha Mershon takes charge as principal of a five week summer program at Highland Park Reformed Church in cooperation with the Vocational Bible School of New Brunswick. Miss Lauber assists, guiding younger children while Mershon oversees seven to twelve year olds.
Mr and Mrs Milton I Voorhees of Jamesburg announce the marriage of their daughter Alice D Voorhees to William Francis Cargill of Melbourne Massachusetts. The ceremony occurred in Elkton Maryland and was kept secret until a sister disclosed it during a family gathering on the Fourth. Mrs Cargill is a Froebel Normal Training School graduate and former Bradley Park public school faculty member.
Miss Bessie Ives Baremore daughter of Mr and Mrs John H Baremore of Jamesburg marries Frederick LeRoy Kruser son of Mr and Mrs Charles Kruser of Keyport in a quiet home ceremony. Rev Weaver K Eubank officiates. After a short honeymoon they will reside in Keyport. Kruser a Pratt Institute EE graduate works with New York Telephone Company. Promotion Day notes follow with graduates listed.
The will of Daniel W. Clayton of Cranbury, a longtime surrogate of Middlesex, was probated Friday by John P. Kirkpatrick. It leaves Cranbury residence to his widow Katie J. Clayton for life, then to sons Bertram and Arthur, with remaining estate divided equally among widow and sons. Dated March 18, 1922, witnessed by Frederick Weigel and Kathryne D. Weigel.
Mrs Anna Libby spearheads a Milltown Republican club of 24 members in Middlesex county. John G Conner of Trentondonates a $10 000 organ to the Y M C A in memory of his wife Carrie Helen Conner. Three killed four injured as Pennsylvania locomotive crashes into delivery trucks at Asbury Park. Sheriff Wyckoff moves to reduce county expenses by firing John Platt. D H Cunningham resigns from Board of Education after twelve years. David Cole injured by rusty nail, hospitalbound awaiting operation.
Potato growers unable to attend the tour may study the seed source demonstration by County Agent Bowen at Fred Carlson's Cranbury farm. A field meeting is planned Friday July 7 at 7 PM DST with Bowen and Dr. W H Martin leading a discussion on potato diseases and observed differences in regional strains.
Paul Ambrose of Trenton will represent the New Jersey Chapter at the fifteenth annual National Association of Organists convention in Chicago the first week in August. Ambrose, organist at First Presbyterian Church, has long been active in Trenton music circles.
Cranbury captured both games on the Fourth. They defeated Hamilton Square 5 to 4 in the morning and downed Hightstown 8 to 5 in the afternoon.
