Horseless Wagon Collision Causes Mule Sprain in Cranbury
Geo B Ely a retired Cranbury Station farmer drove a horseless wagon into a buggy in front of Dr G H Franklin at Hightstown. Eyewitnesses blame a boy on horseback dressed as a rough rider for frightening the mule while others cite two dogs fighting as the distraction. The buggy needed two wheels removed to untangle. Ely’s wagon broke a front wheel and the mule sprained its ankle. Ely reached home around 5 and found the furnace burst at 3 in the morning, but the community offers sympathy.
