Merchants Planning New Store On East State Street

Miss Ethel Grove Returns Home Then Falls Ill

Plainsboro student Miss Ethel Grove, home five weeks due to illness from New Brunswick High School, grew worse after a fire drill Wednesday. An automobile was sent for her and doctors say she may have to quit her studies. The illness is a heavy disappointment in her final year.

Diphtheria Outbreak Reported in Spotswood

Two cases of diphtheria are reported in Spotswood. Louis Dinkle and Walter James, son of Mr and Mrs Frank James, were stricken last week. Quarantine placed on both houses and doctors vow drastic measures to prevent spread among schoolchildren.

Willing Workers To Meet and Honor Roll Highlights

The Willing Workers Mission Band will meet Sunday afternoon in the First Presbyterian chapel with leaders Alexander Butcher and Henry Wilson. The program includes devotions, songs, and reports from various local groups, followed by an honor roll listing Cranbury school students from multiple grades. Death of longtime resident near Acqueduct

A 67 year old man died at his home near Acqueduct Monday night after a period of ill health. He is survived by his wife and one son. Funeral services were held yesterday from his home with Rev. N. T. Brown officiating. Interment followed at Dutch Neck cemetery under the direction of A. & Cole, Son & Co.

Word comes of the death of Professor A. H. Cole a longtime Peddie Institute faculty member and well known in the area. He previously held a position at a large Chicago school at the time of his death.

The Christian Endeavor Society of the Plainsboro church held a social at the newly built Presbyterian manse on Wednesday evening with about forty attendees. Readings by Miss Helen Snook and Miss Luella Hultz, piano solo by Mrs. George Burslem, and selections by the Second Presbyterian Orchestra of Cranbury followed. A business meeting elected Hy A. Stults as president and other officers including Rungell Britton, Miss Luella Hultz, Mrs. J. E. White, Mrs. A. S. Reed, and Miss O. Ar Van Doren for the year.
