On Sunday January 11 morning services include Rev Adolos Allen at the First church and Rev C L Ebell at the Second church with Rev J E Curry at the Methodist church. Evening union service at the Methodist church features Rev Adolos Allen.
The Week of Prayer Services drew good attendance as pastors from three churches preached appealing sermons. It is hoped inspiration was given and the truth received into honest hearts.
Ethel Madeline Perrine hosted a Saturday dinner for a circle of young guests. Present were Virginia Polhemus Elizabeth Grover Alberta Grover Edwoa Hutchinson Bertha Oehler Celeste Mason Isabelle Oehler Harold Polhemus and Russell Grey of Newark.
Miss Ethel Smock entertained many young friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Baird Davis on Saturday evening. Cards and music provided amusement for guests including Misses Florence Perrine Sara Applegate Sara Perrine Emma Mershon Helen Butcher Olive Petty Claire Moore and others.
H. 3M, Voorhees & Bro., Trenton’s well known merchants, plan a new East State street store. Building work will start in a few weeks and the up-to-date shop will serve garments and novelties plus general goods, aiming to attract out of town trade.

Officers named include Ancil M Davison Jr as Councilor Clifford Chamberlin as Vice Councilor Arthur Ervin as Conductor Raymond Wicof as Warden LeRoy Davison as Inside Sentinel Joseph Wicoff as Outside Sentinel W W Walker as Assistant Recording Sec M A Rue as Trustee. Fifty shares of Mechanics National Bank of Trenton stock, owned by the estate of Calvin Barcalow Somerville, were sold by Justice James J Bergen trustee for 225 50 to 235 50 per share. Par value 50. Highest price paid 236 at a prior sale in Charles H Patersons office.
Mr and Mrs Walter McDougall hosted a saturday party for Matilda McDougall honoring her fifteenth birthday. Guests included Margaret Perrine Lucille Chamberlin Edna Walker Imlay O Neil Grace Farr Anna Applegate Margaret Applegate Myra Egnor Mary Hutchinson Hannah Bennett Elizabeth Craig and others from Cranbury Long Branch and Hightstown.Refreshments followed games and music as the hosts also marked twenty years since their shedding anniversary.
Miss Ethel Cole entertained the Triangle Tennis Club at her home Friday evening with cards and games for amusement. Attendees included Olive Petty Sara Perrine Clementine Lewis Mary Spaulding Florence Perrine Helen Butcher Isa belle Snedeker Samuel and Mrs Bennett Rolland Dey Harold Menaugh Waldo Perrine Charles Butcher David Lewis Charles Symmes Eva Bowne Matilda Davison.

Plainsboro student Miss Ethel Grove, home five weeks due to illness from New Brunswick High School, grew worse after a fire drill Wednesday. An automobile was sent for her and doctors say she may have to quit her studies. The illness is a heavy disappointment in her final year.
Two cases of diphtheria are reported in Spotswood. Louis Dinkle and Walter James, son of Mr and Mrs Frank James, were stricken last week. Quarantine placed on both houses and doctors vow drastic measures to prevent spread among schoolchildren.
The Willing Workers Mission Band will meet Sunday afternoon in the First Presbyterian chapel with leaders Alexander Butcher and Henry Wilson. The program includes devotions, songs, and reports from various local groups, followed by an honor roll listing Cranbury school students from multiple grades. Hopewell aims to establish a free public library led by Round About Club funds and state library support.
A 67 year old man died at his home near Acqueduct Monday night after a period of ill health. He is survived by his wife and one son. Funeral services were held yesterday from his home with Rev. N. T. Brown officiating. Interment followed at Dutch Neck cemetery under the direction of A. & Cole, Son & Co.
Nearly 1 000 people filled Trenton's Central Baptist Church Thursday night to hear Professor B P Stout sing The Passion Play story of the cross in vocal form. The Paredena Cal singer drew rave praise for the power and sweetness of his voice and the lasting impression of the program.
Word comes of the death of Professor A. H. Cole a longtime Peddie Institute faculty member and well known in the area. He previously held a position at a large Chicago school at the time of his death.
The Christian Endeavor Society of the Plainsboro church held a social at the newly built Presbyterian manse on Wednesday evening with about forty attendees. Readings by Miss Helen Snook and Miss Luella Hultz, piano solo by Mrs. George Burslem, and selections by the Second Presbyterian Orchestra of Cranbury followed. A business meeting elected Hy A. Stults as president and other officers including Rungell Britton, Miss Luella Hultz, Mrs. J. E. White, Mrs. A. S. Reed, and Miss O. Ar Van Doren for the year.
