Scarce Pearls and Political Quips Highlight Era News
The article notes pearl shortages with rare pink gems valued up to 25000 and critiques immigration quotes tied to Lodge. It mentions Crane Company gifting 135000 to 4000 workers, political jests about Mr Bryan and President Roosevelt, coal shortages threatening 3000 Roebling workers, and the New Jersey State Board of Agriculture meeting. It ends with an ad-like claim of a long life discovery from Churubusco Indiana.
Writ for custody of four year old boy in New Brunswick case
A habeas corpus writ was granted by Vice Chancellor Reed in Trenton directing Harold Buttler and his father Howard Buttler of New Brunswick to produce four year old Lawrence Buttler for a Friday viewing. The estranged couple, married May 7, 1899, dispute custody after allegations of abandonment and financial neglect. The mother, Mrs. Buttler, now lives with her mother in Asbury Park. Harold Buttler has refused access and remains with his father.
