Edward Totten Killed When Gun Discharged

Edward Totten died at his Robbinsville area home after a gun discharged when he investigated a noise in the chicken yard. He stumbled on a stump, the weapon discharged, and he died before medical help could arrive. He leaves a wife, a 3 year old son Kyle, his father J Coleman Totten, two brothers, a sister, and is nephew to Mrs Samuel Bennett. Governor Woodrow Wilson announced Col Edwin A Stephene Hoboken as new State Road Commissioner with a three year term and 5000 dollar salary plus clerical pay. Several local social events, school notes, and church activities are also recorded including Miss Hattie Keys’ death from typhoid pneumonia.
