Peter Davison of Jamesburg Dies

Peter Davison longtime Jamesburg resident died after a long illness. He suffered a fatal attack Sunday and funeral services were held at his home. A farmer and staunch Republican, he never married and is survived by three brothers and a sister in Jamesburg Golden Colorado and Asbury Park.

Burial for Miss Elizabeth Everingham at Brainerd Cemetery

Miss Elizabeth Everingham died at the home of Miss Haney in Princeton and was buried in Brainerd cemetery after a service in Princeton. Nearly 90, she was a cousin of Charles Everingham of Cranbury. Also noted is a local Methodist concert and cake sale planned for February 22 with an afternoon cake sale and an evening program featuring Ina Puerschner John Loebler and Clara Chamberlin along with refreshments.

Valentine Fete At Second Church With Music And Treats

The Second church youth invites all to a Valentine Fete in the chapel on Saturday evening February 13. Admission is 10 cents with doors at 7 and entertainment at 7 30. Valentines, handmade handkerchiefs, home made candy, ice cream and cake will be offered. Music by the Sunday school orchestra promises a joyous social event.

Grocer Shot in Robbery Attempt at Hightstown Store

Lloyd W. Pullen of Hightstown was shot in the left shoulder when two 15 and 16 year old boys attempted a robbery at his store Sunday night. The youths fled after breaking the lock. they were sheltered by G A Bennett in Cranbury before being sent to Jersey City with tickets and security. The boys’ families are said to be prominent, and the incident was reportedly to be kept quiet.

Peddie Alumni Dinner Tonight At Sherman Square Hotel

Headmaster Swetland and Peddie Institute faculty plan to attend the tenth annual dinner of the Peddie Alumni Association of New York tonight in the Sherman Square Hotel. The event reunites graduates and teachers from the days Peddie was a two sex school. E Arthur Rogers of the 1909 class and Princeton University 1913, who pitched for the Tigers, will coach the Peddie nine this year.

Runaway horse killed after collision with train at Trenton

Two men were slightly hurt Samuel G White owner of the formal at Robbinsville and Charles Crawford a farm hand. The horse ran for a long distance and collided with a passenger train dying minutes later. New Brunswick Postmaster Commended for clearing lobby of loiterers after complaints. Chief O Connell assisted and police supported the crackdown.

Mrs Grove Receives Heirloom Plate on Silver Anniversary

On Friday January 29 Mr and Mrs F F Grove celebrated twenty fifth wedding anniversary. They received many fine gifts including dining room furniture and silver with a blue china plate passed down since 1824. The plate once belonged to Mrs Grove’s grandmother Eliza Cortelyou and depicts General La Fayette landing at Castle Garden New York on August 16 1824.
