Church Notes Observe Communion and Lectures

First Presbyterian will observe communion this Sunday February 4. Next Sunday at 10 80 a m the Rev A Heisley will preach on difficulties of church membership. At 7 30 p m a song service led by Mrs Harvey Dey then a sermon on duties of a minister true to calling and loving his people. Mr Thomas M Cowatt will deliver a short address followed by Mr Patterson from a Virginia institution.

Temperance Union Parlor Honors Miss Elfreth at Bergen Home

The Woman's Christian Temperance Union hosted a Wednesday parlor meeting at Mrs. Margaret Bergen's residence to honor State President Miss Elfreth. The program featured piano solos by Arthur Burroughs and Miss xe Vreeland, quartettes by Symmes, Perrine, Guessi, Horner, trombone duets by Hoffman and Walker, a recitation by Alex Butcher, a keynote address by Miss Elfreth, and a prayer by Rev. J. E Curry, followed by refreshments and sociable conversation.

Missionary Societies Meet at Second Church

The Woman's Foreign Missionary Society met today with Mrs. Ella Stults. The Woman's Home Missionary Society will meet tomorrow afternoon in the chapel to discuss The Indians.

The Minister's Wife Play at Second Presbyterian Chapel

February 22 show by the Fruit Gleaners Mission Band will feature a flag drill and piano solos. Admission is 10 cents with ice cream and cake on sale after the entertainment. Proceeds support the mission.

Circle plans Germany program at Mrs Hoffman home

The Circle will meet next Wednesday afternoon at Mrs Chas T Hoffman's home. Members who have traveled in Europe will present impressions of Germany, include readings from German authors, current topics, and music.

The Christian Endeavor Society will meet in the First Presbyterian chapel Sunday evening with Miss Elva Chamberlin leading a talk on Christian Endeavor Ideas. She will outline the society’s work since its inception 31 years ago along with special music and other features.

Cranbury Vigilant Society Holds Annual Meeting

The Cranbury Vigilant Society met at Odd Fellows Hall on Saturday afternoon. The report shows a flourishing treasury of one thousand dollars and nineteen new members were admitted. Elected officers include President Walter H. Havens and Vice President Ancil M. Davison with other posts filled.

The couple will reside in Cranbury where Hopple oversees the hay press for John 8 Silvers & Bro. Co. A serenade followed.
