Reading Circle and Christmas Events Across Town

The Reading Circle will meet January 2 with New Years reception hosted by Mrs D W Clayton and committee including Mrs Perrise Mrs Johnson and Mrs Conover. At M B E Church Christmas program featured songs recitations and a play with many tenement children and local families in attendance.

Entertainment at Dutch Neck Church Draws Community

A grand entertainment fundraiser at Dutch Neck Church is scheduled for Tuesday evening January 5th at 7 30. The program features Clara Chamberlin reader Ethel Hutchinson and Hugh Jenson soloists plus entertaining dialogues. Admission is 35 cents.

First Presbyterian Church Society Elects Officers

The C. E. Society of the First Presbyterian Church elects officers for the coming year: President Miss Florence Perrive, Vice-President Charles V. D. Symmes, Secretary Miss Helen Forman, Treasurer Miss Mary Symmes, and Mrs James H. Field of Hightatown. Mrs Field also announces her daughter Miss Isabella Bergen’s engagement to Julian Schloss of Moorertown, N. J.

Christmas Dawn Music in Cranbury Bell Toll

Residents awoke to carols on Christmas morning as the First Church bell rang out. The Cranbury musicians including Clarence Perrine 10 Hoffman William Hoffman Willard Grove and Will Dey of the Orangbury Orchestra provided the Christmas music.

Christmas Eve Collection For Armenian Syrian Relief Fund

A Christmas Eve service at the Methodist Church collected 35 for the Armenian and Syrian Relief Fund. The amount was sent to the Armenian Committee treasurer. Rev. H F Doran will ensure further forwarding and gratefully receives additional subscriptions from the community to aid persecuted Christians under Turkish rule.

The Ladies Aid Society of Plainsboro invites all to a playlet The Sweet Family and luncheon at the town hall on New Year’s Eve. Mary McDougall married William Lanning son of John Lanning of Hightstown on Christmas Day at the McDougall residence. The ceremony was by Rev J E Curry with Matilda McDougall as attendant. They will reside at 68 Fairview Ave., Jersey City.
