Auto Truck Driver Killed by Bandits Near Bound Brook
Bound Brook New Jersey August 21 Charles Hilbert of Allentown Pennsylvania was shot and killed after ignoring highwaymen who ordered the truck to stop. The vehicle carried silk valued at $50000 and was driven from Newark to Allentown. A boy helper John Meyer was robbed of $2 before the robbers fled in the truck which was later found abandoned near Cranford.

New Home Economics Courses at State Agricultural College
State Agricultural College issues a bulletin announcing joint courses in Home Economics with the State Board of Education beginning September 18. Levi C Updike longtime Hightstown resident dies at 73
Levi Cornelius Updike, aged about 73, died Thursday evening at the home of his son in law near Hightstown. He was a longtime East Windsor township committeeman from 1879 to 1899 and a ruling elder of the First Presbyterian Church since 1880. Survived by one daughter, five grandchildren, three sisters, and one brother. Funeral Monday at 3 PM at the Presbyterian Church, burial Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Updike was born in 1844 near the death site and spent life in the area.
