Fires, thefts, weddings and sermons fill Monmouth notes
The week in Monmouth County brings loss from a Tuesday fire destroying Spencer Werta’s farm buildings at Middlebuch, thefts at James Robbins’ smoke house, and Mary Voorhees’s death near Franklin Park. Funerals, marriages, sermons and missions fill church life, while odd jobs, auctions, and local notices mark daily commerce and community events.

Hosiery Stock Takes Prominent Place at Yard's Store
For the first time in our history the hosiery stock occupies a position and space worthy of itself. Yard's has a large department, shown by the sample stock on display, making it clear the store is as much a hosiery shop as a glove lace or dress trimming house.
