Political controversy over British Columbia racist pledge

Ottawa editorialists condemn Sir Richard Mebelde for endorsing an all white BC policy and for stoking fears of Asiatic invasion. The piece notes the premier’s harsh stance on Orientals, Hindus, and yellow races in fisheries, canneries, lumber camps, and mines, calling his London praise misleading and politically risky. The writer warns of continued federal action against immigration if his party remains in power.
