Fair brings mixed weather and strong exhibits at Cranbrook show

Three day fair in Cranbrook faced rain and cold winds yet drew large crowds and strong praise for exhibits. Mineral displays from Moyie to St Marys impressed buyers and miners, vegetables and livestock dazzled visitors, and the fine arts tent earned high acclaim amid opening day gloom and closing-day sun.

Royal visit draws vast crowds across Canada

Reports say Canada from Ottawa to Victoria welcomed the future king with unprecedented hospitality as hundreds of thousands showed loyalty and affection. Separately, the assassin Czolgosz was found guilty of President McKinley’s murder and sentenced to electrocution later this month.

Marriages In Moyie And Moyie Welcomes Guests

On Monday morning at 4 o'clock September 39 in Moyie at the Catholic church Father aelette officiated uniting Harry Dimock foreman of the St. Hugene mine with Julia Haggerty recently from the east. Attendants were Haggerty of Moyie and Grace of Moyie. On Tuesday at 7 in the St. Hugene Mission church A McDonald of Moyie and Laura Manning of Moyie were married with Father Cecesia officiating. Also on Tuesday at A Fenwick’s home Louis Love of Falling and Besselin were married with Father Wayer officiating. Local Rugby players faced disappointment when Nelson boys could not attend the scheduled game and Dr King lamented the setback.

New Dairy Firm Forms Partnership

R Lounsbury and A Jolie form a dairy partnership and expand stock with new cows. They will devote their efforts to dairy work. Fort Steele saw many visitors at the fair over the past two days.
