By order in council officials appoint J A Stewart F Weston and T M Roberts as jury selectors for Kootenay. They prepare the preliminary list of grand and petit jurors for the year ending August 31 1927 and mail letters to the ladies on the list asking for their consent. Catholic Bazaar Draws Big Crowd At St Marys Church
The St Marys Catholic Church bazaar at K P Hall drew a large audience and raised funds for the church building. Guests enjoyed wheels of fortune, booths run by Mrs Farrell, Miss Mott, Mrs Kennedy, Mrs Rankin, and others, with prize drawings led by F Gui Mont and J Schell. Proceeds surpassed last year, funding the church’s building program.

Delegates go unpledged to leadership candidates Bowser or Ladner, allowing a free vote for the provincial leader. Travel plans to attend remain undecided between Nelson via special cars or Golden then train to Kamloops.

Mother of Local Resident Passes Away in Halifax
Mis. James W. McIntosh of Marsh Street Halifax died after months of illness. She was mother of ten children, five sons served in the Great War, three killed in action and buried in France. Surviving husband, two daughters in Canada, four sons in the United States and Canada. Born in Scotland, the family moved from Thorburn to New Glasgow twenty-two years ago.

Dedicate Stone For Indian Discoverer Of St Eugene Mine
A five foot high taranite headstone honors Pierre Cronin known as Indian Pete, the original discoverer of the St Eugene mine at Moyie. The stone, gifted by Consolidated Mining & Smelting Co, was unveiled at St Eugene Mission Cemetery with a large crowd, including company representatives and pioneer residents. The dedication followed services at the mission church.
