Empire Day Celebration at the Fair Grounds

Arrangements are complete for the Empire Day event on Saturday May 24 with a parade at 10 am and a Home Sweet Home Dance. Visitors arrive by auto and special trains from East and West. events include baseball games, school exhibits, a grand parade with bands and floats, and a big auditorium dance from 8 pm to midnight. Admission to grounds 60c, under 12 free, bleachers and paddock free. autos 25c. return trains leave Cranbrook at 1 am.

Baptist Church Anniversary Celebrates 19 Years

The Baptist Church marked its 19th founding anniversary and the first anniversary of Rev. J. P. Sinclair as pastor. Rev. F. W. Dafoe preached two sermons on The Church and its Mission and A Father's Love. A Monday social featured varied music and greetings from nearby denominations and organizations.

YMCA Reception Highlights Maple Leafs Bowling Victory

The Ry YMCA directors hosted a reception with Mayor Cameron Rev Harrison and others. Maple Leafs won the Team Championship Bowling Cup led by captain W. Seaman and coach receiving a silver medal. Warren Spence of the All Stars earned a gold medal for his 297 average. Mr BE Beatty will visit Cranbrook May 4 en route to Nelson for a banquet by East Kootenay and Nelson boards of trade.
