Clark Bros. of St Marys Prairie shipped a wheat load to Port William this week. Mr Chester Staples visited Calgary for the Mt Llumbermen Association convention last week. Mrs Ray Staples visited friends in Portland Oregon. Mr and Mrs Wylf Farrell and family moved from Wasa to the area last week. A second family has settled here within a month. Vr A Daft of Cranbrook begins duties at Ole Stanley Lumber Co. Mrs Vo Liddicote of Cranbrook visited Mrs S G Clark. she returned home with Mrs Clark. Mr and Mrs Percy Miller visited Cranbrook. Miller tried the B C Log Sealers examination. Messrs Clark Foster and Manger were in Cranbrook last Saturday. Three Austrians, workers for the company, were arraigned in Marysville last week and fined 27 dollars and 50 cents each for missing their monthly report. Mr Tf H McChire of St Marys Prairie imported a carload of Holstein stock recently. Rev W J Bridge of Cranbrook conducted field Lent services in the English Church Thursday. Mr and Mrs C H Knocke are vacationing in Calgary this week.
Fort Steele community items include Suf faly back guiding his ship to the Royal Navy after a wreck off Peanee. Georges Judd returns to Elko from Thirton Mine. Mr. Binmore heads to Mayook via Cranbrook. Miss Bessie Cann recuperates in Cranbrook Hospital after an operation. Ted Cross ladies plan a dance April 5 at Band Hall with tickets 50 cents. Rev McInnis held services in town. Pte Harold Bridges reported wounded is recovering well. Winslow of Victor Mine, Mouse Creek, visited town last week.
The Red Cross ladies announce a basket social and dance on April 7 at Ta Ta Creek School House. Mr Brown of Ta Ta Creek spent the weekend in Wasa while Mr and Mrs Quartly and son Eric visited Cranbrook.
Court proceedings in Cranbrook against fatline Pichhetto and Stanslaus Pichette for breach or specific performance of a contract. An order dated March 17 1917 permits service by publication in the Cranbrook Herald. Plaintiffs warn judgment may be entered in absence if not defended.
