Settlers for Columbia Valley From England’s Turmoil

E Mallandaine of the Columbia Valley Irrigated Fruit Lands Ltd reports that industrial and political unrest in England will drive greater Canadian and Australian immigration. A group of about ninety English landowners plan to sail from Liverpool on April 5 to farm irrigated fruit lands in the Columbia Valley, bringing families and capital. British immigration strains railway capacity with bookings through May 16 and a contingent of thirteen thousand is anticipated on the April 16 departure.

Board declines purchase of two lots for school site

Public school trustees will not buy the two Lots 1 and 2 in Block 142 citing unreasonable prices. The district already has an option on six other lots for a proposed manual training school and aims to secure the entire block by closing the lane between parts. Repairs on the present school will be overseen by Architect F S Rosseter and plans for the new building will proceed with teachers sought.

Old Man Makes Good in Kamloops Real Estate Deal

F E Simpson received a London cable that he sold the Beckman addition of 141 acres to English buyers. H Boeckman of Seattle owns the property and will close the deal with Simpson, who views Kamloops as a prime residential area with a bright future. Cowan plans to return this month to finalize market timing.

Halifax Memorial Tower Dedication Set With Royal Attendance
