Cranbrook school board reviews manual training plans
The Cranbrook school board met Friday March 29 at the school. Inspector Dunnell discussed manual training school plans and advised on the new building’s design. Architect J J O Gara sought board permission to bid and was invited to participate. Plans will come from local architects, with later expansion for high school or domestic science. The west end school project was deferred. The board also arranged to buy stock of school supplies at cost from local bookstores.

Death of ex Speaker Pooley marks BC political era end
Hon. C. E. Hooley KC former speaker died about midnight Thursday shortly after learning his son S. I. Pooley had been elected Conservative member for Esquimalt. Pooley, born February 9 1816 in Upwood England, came to British Columbia in 1863 as a boy gold seeker and later served in Robson Davie and Turner cabinets.
