Amputation for Irishman in need of artificial legs
A recently rescued Irish shoemaker near Canal Flats had both legs amputated below the knees at St. Winnipeg Hospital after five days in freezing woods. Mr Riley, with a wife and three children in Newfoundland, needs about $200 for two artificial legs. The Herald opens a fund with initial donations and hopes to announce full subscription next week.
