In Invermere British Columbia on January 14 trappers report strong earnings this season. Two trappers recently netted about five hundred dollars in three weeks. Swede hunter Oseny Erickson trapped on Findlay Creek and brought in thirty one prime martens sold for about one dollar each. Findlay Creek feeds the Kootenay River about 46 miles north of Invermere.

In La Rochelle on June 14 a disaster at Bonne Shoal in the Bay of Biscay sent the ship Af rique to its doom. More than four hundred passengers and crew perished with only 57 survivors reported. Hope for the rest is abandoned.

Imperial Daughters of the Empire Kuskanook Chapter to Disband
A Kuskanook Chapter meeting in City Hall discussed disbanding the Imperial Daughters of the Empire chapter formed in 1916.
