Kimberley Wins Series In Tough Hockey Battle

Kimberley defeated Greenwood 10 to 1 in a heated game with Huffman scoring multiple goals and Lilly delivering strong rush plays. The victory, celebrated by players and fans, sets up a Victoria trip as the series with Greenwood nears completion. Y M C A Renovation Highlights Cranbrook Efforts

The Y M C A in Cranbrook is undergoing a top to bottom renovation by CPR foreman W Walby and assistants C Bidder and J Fenton. CPR officials T R Fett and J Robertson are praised for maintenance. Kimberley Defeats Greenwood in High-Scoring Hockey Clash

Kimberley dominated Greenwood in a packed arena, opening with an 8-0 run and finishing 14-1 in the final period. Mills Lilly Blumenauer Rochon Huffman and Morrison led Kimberley while Greenwood's Huffman and Morrison stood out amid heavy late pressure.

Elks Lodge Hosts Social With Cranbrook Orchestra

A Cranbrook Elks Lodge social night featured refreshments and several initiations. The Cranbrook Elks orchestra provided music as guests enjoyed the evening.

Forestry department seeks assistant ringer in early March exams

The British Columbia forestry department under Major H. Colson calls for applicants for an assistant ranger position. Exams will be held in Cranbrook Invermere and Nelson on March 5 9 and 12. Also noted: the departure of Mr and Mrs Gore of Athalmer to Nelson, miner John Manderson from Alberta passed away, and Mrs Edwin Ede hosted a G W V A fundraiser boosting the district treasury.

Community notes from Moyle and Cranbrook events

A busy Saturday at Panera a The Hard Times featured a dance organized by the Movie hockey team with Miss M Conrad and Frank Looney winning prizes. Local talent provided music and a supper was served by the boys. Mrs Idx Pearsons visited Kimberley, while Mrs Sam Roberts of Skookum chuck spent time with her family in Moyle. Visitors from Vancouver viewed the Aurora Mine across the lake and several Kimberley residents registered at the Cameron House. Ash Wednesday services were held at St Peters Church. A coast eye specialist visited the district, and Miss Florence Agland returned to Lumberton. Moyle fans traveled to Cranbrook for a hockey game, and Miss Sadie Whitehead visited Cranbrook guests the Nicholsons recently. The Nicholsons and family plan to open a business in Moyle, and Master Stanley Roberts returned home from a months-long stay in Voyle.

Creston Sportsmen End Hungarian Pheasant Release Plan

Creston Rod and Gun Club votes to stop securing Hungarian pheasants after costs and crop damage complaints. Revenue will fund wild rice planting on Kootenay Flats to boost duck and goose shooting, and the club plans to incorporate under British Columbia law with stock sale to fund a new village clubhouse. A three month option on a site has been taken.

Victoria grazing commissioner T. P. McKenzie spoke to a stockmen meeting at City Hall about better range control. The Cranbrook and district Stockbreeders' Association held its annual meeting the same evening.
