Boys Conference and Father and Son Banquet
Dominion leader Taylor Statten will speak in Cranbrook from February 12 to 14. A Father and Son banquet is set for February 12 at 6 30 PM in the K P Hall with boys admitted free and dads paying 50 cents to cover costs. Spokane Zips Fall Short In Weekend Hockey Tour
The Spokane Zips lost all four games on a hockey tour through Cranbrook Fernie Blairmore Pincher Creek but showed sportsmanlike play. Cranbrook 7 Cranbrook 5 featured Copeland scoring four for Spokane and Lewis and Johnson for Cranbrook. The visit also included a Fernie 2-0 loss and plans for a Rossland game as interest grows.

Women's Institute Meeting Votes Donation and Awards
The regular monthly meeting in K. of P. Hall on February 2, 1926, elected Mrs. Nor grove as chair. The group donated one hundred dollars to the Crippled Children Fund, and district convenor Mrs. Hennesey reported over five hundred dollars raised with more on hand. They joined the local Council of Women to aid rural marketing of farmers products, planned a Star Theatre talent night, heard household hints, and enjoyed a tea with shortbread. Prizes for the Beauties of Cranbrook essays were awarded to Olive Norgrove Jess ie South Eddie Gartside Dorothy Brown Sophie McGregor May Groderman and others. Mrs. Willis praised Class 1 children. Meeting closed with God Save the King and tea.

Ice Carnival Attracts Skaters To Rink Friday
A large crowd attended the first skating carnival at Arena rink on Friday evening. The ice was good and masked skaters enjoyed the event, though music was missed. Judges awarded prizes for best costumes and dressed participants, with numerous winners including Vivian Kummer as Indian Maiden and Kenneth Green as Indian Chieftain.

Attendance rising at library in January
In January attendance at the library rose to 260 from 222 in December. Non members may use reading rooms, but home borrowing remains confined to members. Local Forest Ranger Named District Supervisor
F H Pym of this city and long time forestry branch staff member has been appointed district supervisor, succeeding W R Flumerfelt who left for Vancouver. Pym’s appointment dates from the first of this month. Two rangers will be appointed to fill his vacancy and the post created by George Watson’s death, to maintain the district’s usual strength. Pym’s experience gives him deep knowledge of conditions across the Cranbrook office district.
