Women and Men Bowlers Clash at Recreation Club
Members of the Boys' Department enjoy twice weekly activities at the Recreation Club including exercise games and swimming. A special meeting will decide ongoing use of the gym and pool with hopes for a decisive majority. Ladies lead the bowling league while a women vs men match with skirts as handicaps is planned for Saturday the nineteenth.
Tag Day in City Nets Over $100 for Children's Home
The Indies of the Vancouver W C T U report a tag day on February 12 raising 118 to aid the Children's Home run by the Children's Aid Society. Ten girls divided into teams collected funds from noon to night with 55 in the afternoon and 61 in the evening, led by Jean Baillie Donna Argue Eva Moir and Bessie Woodman.

School Cadet movement gains provincial support and activities
Col Belson and Col Pollem visited the city schools to back the School Cadet movement which already enrolls about 2600 cadets ages 12 to 18. At the High School a Valentine tea raised 35 dollars for chairs. Miss Bessie Woodman led arrangements. Navy League awards were presented by Mayor Hicks with winners including Alma Sarvis Leonard Burton Gertrude Challender and Nora Home. Central School prize lists honored top students with pictures books and certificates.

Well Known Pioneer George Geary Goes West
The district loses George Geary of Fort Steele a veteran settler who died in St Eugene hospital on Tuesday. Born in Perth Ontario over 80 years ago he came West in 1880 and helped run Windermere Hotel with James Stoddart. An experienced miner and farmer he was respected for kindness and integrity and was a Mason and Oddfellow and Liberal. Funeral in Fort Steele Friday featured Rev. R W Lee and a Masonic tribute by North Star Lodge with friends from Cranbrook Bull River and others.

Canal Flats Woman Mrs F W Wolfe Dies After Brief Illness
Funeral held Sunday afternoon for Mrs. F. W. Wolfe of Canal Flats who died Thursday February 10 in St Eugene Hospital. Born December 8 1889 she married Fred Wolfe about three years ago leaving two young daughters aged two and ten months. Rev R W Lee conducted service at the Methodist church with many mourners present.

Tragic double murder suicide at Yahk shocks locals
In Yahk on Saturday afternoon A F Broadhagen shot at his divorced wife Mrs Ethel M Todd in the Commercial hotel kitchen, then killed himself. Mrs Todd died at the scene. Broadhagen died at Cranbrook after the gunshots. Funeral services for Mrs Todd were held with her two sons in attendance.
