Pythians Honor Member with Lodge Meeting in Cranbrook
Crescent Lodge No. 83 Knights of Pythias held a well attended meeting to approve up to $100 for Xmas cheer to needy cases and to form the Princes of Syracuse Pythian boys lodge in Cranbrook. Past Chancellors night was planned for January with officers listed and a farewell to Brother W. H. Shira, who received a bath robe and slippers as thanks. A luncheon followed the gathering.

Wardner Woman Dies After Childbirth At Local Hospital
Margaret Greeb of Wardner died at 6 a.m. Wednesday at St. Eugene Hospital following childbirth on November 19. Her husband William Greeb, a Wardner night watchman, and an infant son survive with five brothers and two sisters. Her remains are to be taken to Glenwood Alberta for burial.

East Kootenay resident leaves for Oregon home
Mr. W. H. Shira, a longtime East Kootenay resident, departed Wednesday noon for La Grande Oregon to make his home. He came to Canada nearly thirty years ago, worked on claims in Moyie Tracy Camp Lewis Creek, and served with the North Kootenay Lands and Lumber Co. for years. Fast departure noted as a loss to Kootenay. A bowling league meeting will be held Friday at the Y M C A to organize winter play.

The Knoxchurch Ladies' Aid held their annual Christmas bazaar on Saturday. A large turnout admired the attractive goods and many purchases were made. Tea and afternoon refreshments were served, and over $500 was netted by the group.
