Death of Lieutenant Ray Howard in France
Lieutenant Murray Leo Howard died of wounds July 26 in France. Known as Ray Howard, he sacrificed himself for country and liberty. Born in New Haven October 10 1891, he came to Cranbrook in 1912 as night operator, enlisted March 16 1916, held top efficiency ranking, served in signal corps and Royal Flying Corps, married Marguerite Drummond in 1916, survived by widow and family. a requiem was held at St Marys church.
