The danger season for forest fires is near. Dry soil and brush heighten risk. Fire rangers urge campers to extinguish camp fires and smokers toAvoid tossed burning matches. Settlers must guard land-clearing fires. The Canadian Forestry Association says every citizen is a deputy ranger until November first.

School Trustees Hold Monthly Meeting and Reports
The School Trustees met on Friday April 6th with Chairman White and trustees Atchison and Henderson present. Dr. MacKinnon Health Officer agreed to two medical examinations yearly and annual grants of 79.20 from the Director of Elementary Agricultural Education for maintenance and improvements of school grounds. Manual Training Instructor Morris reported on Night Schools in Cranbrook B C noting enrollment changes for Drawing Woodwork and Arithmetic.

Legislative committee to draft resolution in Ryan matter

Clauson Appeal Cleared Liquor Case At Queen's Hotel
The appeal of T. Clauson against Magistrate Arnold's fine for liquor found at Queen's Hotel was allowed. At a Cranbrook and District Food Conservation Committee meeting the duties of sub committees were adopted and members engaged in several actions.
