Enjoyable High School Entertainment Awards Medals
On Friday evening the High School hosted an event for pupils from the entrance clubs and teachers from Central and South Ward Schools plus parents of last year’s medallists. Medals were awarded to Norman Beech and Norman Gill for Entrance Class 1918. Marion MacKinnon and Join Noble for High School 1918. Dora Pye for Matriculation, Herbert Chester won the district scholarship. Mrs Steves spoke on Astronomy. Mr Morris supervised the glides and a staff contest Fifty Famous People won by Alma Sarvis and Russell Leask. Light refreshments followed.

Two Friday dances planned for May 2 and a following date feature a nine piece local orchestra and the Ladies Auxiliary will run refreshments. The City Band also performs at the Band Stand each Monday evening with a popular instrumental program to showcase the band’s performance.
