William Stalhuth survived a 25 foot fall from a barn roof and remains in hospital. Robert Ballantyne died at Premier Ranch after a long illness. The Windermere District Hospital Association held its seventeenth annual meeting with a large turnout and a surplus of over 11000. New officers were elected including President A Ernest Fisher and Honorary President His Honor R Randolph Bruce. The year ending 31 December 1926 shows detailed receipts and expenses with a final surplus of 11,281.01 and 16,841.27 in 1925.

Principle of slow play in bidding shown with six clubs hand
The article analyzes a bridge hand where Z opens one club B bids one diamond after A doubles and Y passes. It argues that bidding one no trump with this hand is poor judgment and notes four clubs to the queen is no double stopper. The hand features six clubs A and Q, diamonds 0 1 9 8 7 6 5, and spades none, illustrating a recurring principle in these columns.
