Frazier for County Treasurer. Text emphasizes Billings’ integrity, Ratcliff’s proven service, Marshall’s prominence, and Frazier’s farming ties and fiscal steadiness.
The Republican convention on July 26 in this city nominated Dr Alva B Carter of Covington by acclamation for the State House seat. Born 1866 in Coles County Illinois, he trained at Toronto Veterinary College and practiced in Fowler Benton County Converse and finally Covington since 1902. He is married with one daughter and has served as City School Trustee. He advocates reenactment of moral safeguards.
James Yerkes hailed as preeminent local candidate for coroner with a long line of republican service from Wabash township and Govington. Dr Bett McCard of Veedersburg named as the coroner nominee, praised as a rising physician fit to manage justice and county finances.
Col C W Sentman is nominated as surveyor and praised as best qualified in Fountain County. For Commissioners in the 2nd and 3rd districts William A Parish of Millcreek and Ephram Martin of Richland are nominated. Both are farmers, taxpayers, and trusted community leaders with strong party standing.
