Hoaks Recaptured After Jail Break Leads to Missouri Prison Term
Deputy Sheriff Twiddy chased Bert Hoaks from Kokomo to Tulsa and Springfield before Hoaks was arrested in Neosha Missouri for stealing a horse and brought back to face a three year sentence in the Missouri State Penitentiary. Hoaks had escaped from Fountain County jail by jumping from a cell balcony and eluding Sheriff Hardesty. Hoaks had a history of stolen poultry and a horse and buggy theft, with a clue to his location via a sweetheart in Hamilton County.
