Samuel Hunter known as part of the Judy system was arrested in Lafayette as he attempted to board a train to Williamsport. An affidavit by John W. Briggs charges Hunter with stealing a team of horses belonging to Briggs. The case ties to a prior purchase by Richard Biggs and a mortgage on two teams.
An advertisement extols Dr King's New Discovery as a universal cure for throat and lung diseases. It claims quick relief from phlegm and coughs, promises healing of inflamed throats and lungs, and offers guaranteed bottles with trial bottles free at Lee Allen's.
