Mrs Henry Smail of East Liberty street died Sunday morning after a long illness linked to typhoid fever and complications. Born May 12 1859 in South Danville Illinois she married Henry Smail Sept 5 1876 and left four surviving children Harry Herschel Ona and Sherman. John Richard Bodine born near Miamisburg Ohio in June 1919 died at his Jefferson street home after a long farming life. He served in Co D First Indiana during the Mexican War era and moved with his wife to the city seven years ago. Surviving are six children two brothers and four sisters twenty three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Henry Davis a farm hand on A P Burnside s Fulton township farm is jailed on a grave charge. Affidavit by Frank Nash Deputy Sheriff Lou Hardesty arrested Davis Saturday and bound him over to a $1000 bond. He is accused of enticing and ravishing Lulu Nash eleven daughter of Frank Nash last Tuesday. The girl reported the assault to a schoolmate and her step mother leading to the affidavit by Nash. Davis a 35 year old married man with two children previously bore a good name. The case will be heard at the next term of court.
