Dangerous Fire Threatens Homes Near Worth Reed Tract
High winds last Friday noon fanned a fire near the Big Four tracks at the Worth Reed tract fronting Liberty street. The blaze swept dry grass to the J. M. Rion buildings as residents gathered to aid, driven by gusts described as a gale. Initial sparks from a noon passenger engine were ruled unlikely after a witness, Mrs. Lawrence Martin, reported a man starting the blaze with a match before fleeing.
