The piece cites roll calls, financing from breweries, and a counter move to raise school taxes. It notes the Bland two cent fare bill for railroads, insurance regulation changes, and the push for a state finance board and depository safeguards. The piece portrays a legislature under liquor and gambling influence while praising Republican actions on rail fares and insurance oversight.
