Covington Church Roots Stretch Through Early Denominations
The Covington religious history traces roots in 1828 with a Methodist society led by Lucas Nebeker and Judge Birch. Growth saw several buildings, 1840 brick church and a 1852 altar, while Presbyterians formed in 1832 and consolidated in 1950s. The Christian and German Brethren churches also emerged, shaping a diverse local faith scene.
