Dedication of New Presbyterian Church in Covington
The 1801 dedication of Covington's Gothic Presbyterian church drew a large crowd with a debt-freedom offering surpassing goals. Rev. Dr. Willis G. Craig delivered a revered sermon, while musical performances by Mrs. Nave, Mrs. Martin, and Attica singers highlighted the day. The building, opened in 1801, features rock-faced brick walls, art glass windows, a gold oak pulpit, and frescoes. The project leader Rev Clarence E. Fowler and supporters, including C. M. McCabe and A. T. Livengood, are praised for guiding the effort to completion.
