The Big Four Route offers a popular low rate excursion to Chautauqua Lake New York on July 26 1905. Tickets must be deposited at the General Office of Chautauqua Assembly by July 31 for the excursion and will be issued for return passage on withdrawal from that office but not after August 2 1905.

All soldiers and friends are invited to attend with dress and baggage prepared for a day with the old comrades. Editor George M. Wailiame of Attica reports a man named Jamed Gass entered his sanctum and threatened him after learning a school house whitewashing contract was terminated. The editor says he defended himself with a whipping Mora and notes other journalists faced similar dangers during trips and while covering assignments.
