Fourth of July Auto Races End in Tragedy at Danville Fair
The Danville Fourth of July program drew about four thousand spectators at the fair grounds. Nine cars started the first race with Davis and Roberts winning, but a fatal crash in the 25 mile event killed Fisher of St Joseph and McIntire of Marshall, leaving four others injured and hopes waning for their recoveries. The day also included a bicycle race and a baseball game, ending with Ramsey winning the late race.
