Alcohol From Garbage Proposal Presented to Milwaukee Council
Dr. W. A. Boyd of Rockford Illinois told Milwaukee's common council that garbage disposal could be revolutionized by denatured alcohol production. He proposes to burn waste at 70 cents per ton instead of 1.89 and, after ten years, transfer his plant to the city. The plan would yield grease fertilizer and alcohol, with alcohol as the key byproduct. Milwaukee now gains no byproducts from waste burning.
