In Battle Creek Michigan on December 30 1910 the undersigned certify that every testimonial letter printed by the Postum Cereal Co Ltd carried a genuine signed statement. They say the company has received over 50000 genuine letters and has never knowingly stated anything untrue about its products or methods. Signed many officers and staff including C W Post chairman and H E Burt general supervisor.
The company rebuts a series of criticisms labeled Distortion Nos. 1 through 12, arguing that Grape-Nuts and Postum are not cures but nutritious foods. They defend ingredient disclosures, calorie claims, testimonials, doctors’ endorsements, and mind body theories, asserting honesty and accuracy in their statements and trials.
