Suit to Oust Storms as Indiana Secretary of State
A suit to remove Daniel E. Storms from the Indiana Secretary of State office was filed in Marion County Circuit Court by Governor Handy. The filing cites misconduct and embezzlement with funds and securities purchased to protect lenders to Storms. Storms was ordered to appear January 13 with a 20 day window for final disposition. A separate criminal proceeding saw a continuance request in David B. Sherrick’s case after a judge quashed several counts of the indictment.

Sherrick Case Continues as Indictment Delayed
In Indianapolis on Jan 3 the State asked for a continuance to prepare a new indictment that would add stress on an embezzlement charge. The court warned that the case must go to trial with no unnecessary delays. There is persistent belief that pressure aims to suppress certain charges.
