Mrs. Hattie Brown Gulley wife of Charles W. Gulley died Monday at her parents home in Wallace after a long affliction. Born about thirty five years ago she joined the Christian church locally. The illness caused a deep sleep from which she would not awaken despite medical efforts. she had recently sought treatment in Indianapolis before returning home for the funeral. Interment was at Wallace. Despatch.
Frank Gray aged 35 living three miles southwest of Pine Village killed himself Wednesday of last week. Neighbors note he had behaved oddly for almost a year and was seen as needing restraint. A letter in his pocket explained his deed citing jealousy. He left a wife and several children.
Post Office to stay open until 11 am on Christmas Day to aid the public. Rural carriers will run their usual routes and all mail will be received and dispatched as usual. Also, wholesale sale of all dolls at Mrs. J. W. Price's.
Contractor Mr Ratcliff estimates nearly three weeks more to finish the grade. Weather or labor shortages could extend the deadline, with doubts he can complete the work this year. Buckner's is noted as a good place to buy cigars.
Henry Cooper and Miss Grace Osborn were married quietly in Danville Tennessee weeks before last. They plan to reside with the Osborns this winter and move to a farm near Hillsboro in spring. Their friends were surprised by the sudden ceremony at the Peninsular Store run by J. H. Fowler.
Andrew Green of Newtown was declared insane and dangerous to roam. He was taken to the Central Insane Hospital in Indianapolis by deputy Twiddy after escaping the county farm. He resisted initially but was restrained and soon promised to behave.
Reverend Thorne a Baptist minister recently moved from this place to Woolcot preached a farewell sermon Sunday evening. Due to high esteem Rev Palmer held no services in his church so all could attend Baptist services. Thorne family was greatly loved and the community laments their move.

The circuit court has closed seven weeks of the November term with numerous state and civil cases resolved by trial compromise and dismissal. Fines were imposed on Richard Cates Joel Watts Walter Perry Chauncey Abernathy Oscar Plowers and Charles Kelly among others. Civil actions include quiet title divorce and debt suits with dispositions listed and new filings announced.
George Keller Ketter and Miss May Ritchey daughter of Mr and Mrs Hugh Ritchey were married Wednesday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs W G Evans in Hoopeston. They returned to the city Friday night and will stay with the Ritcheys for the winter. Friends extend congratulations.
