Hyram Smith Dies After Long Illness At Foster Home
Hyram Smith aged 69 died at his Foster home early Wednesday after a long illness. About twenty years ago he lost both legs in a Wabash crossing accident at Danville when struck by a train while in a farm wagon. Barn destroyed by lightning near Benson church
The Cromer barn opposite Benson church west of the city was struck by lightning Wednesday afternoon and burned. The new barn, filled with baled hay and grain, was completely destroyed and the loss is substantial though partly insured.
