Evacuation of Silistria by Turkish forces

On the 11th the Pasha Seyd announced his plan to enter Silistria and take possession. He landed, was greeted by Russian staff, and a review of about a thousand Russian troops followed. Cossacks later prepared sanitary measures, and the fortress papers were exchanged. The British and French agents met the Pasha on the beach. Silistria’s ruinous state prompted immediate departure from the town and auction of looted goods.
