Corn Returns Cases At Aylesbury Court For Noncompliance
In Aylesbury Magistrates Court several defendants faced penalties for failure to sign declarations of corn purchases under the Corn Returns act. Mr. W Gleadale, inspector, pursued cases against Mr. Sameet Field of Theme and others for neglecting to declare corn bought. The judge and peers noted ignorance and technical errors, applying leniency where possible and stressing the need for proper returns in all markets. The session covered multiple defendants with similar disputes and ended with temporary dismissals as returns were still due.
