Trinity House accounts and Marriage Act amendment

In the House of Lords the Trinity House presented receipts and surplus expenditures. The Bishop of Exeter introduced a Marriage Act amendment to allow marriages in any church or chapel where banns were published. The session adjourned.

Dublin Gas Light Bill Moves Through House of Commons

In 1824 the Dublin gas lighting bill received first reading with a motion for a second reading. Parliament also discussed petitions on bear baiting and slave abolition, and debated duties on coals leather tobacco and silk amid broader questions of reform and finance.
