Firewood harvest echoes July 15 storm legacy
The 1980 July 15 Wisconsin storm left 60 acres of damaged hardwood in Eau Claire County. Three Milwaukee area landowners and families, aided by DNR forester Haig Vahradian and forestry staff, organized salvage sales, a 40 year forest plan, log landing seeding, and rifle logging trails.
